What changed in the parent app this month

April 2026 release notes in plain language: HeroBanner, module grid, PDF download, and four bug fixes we're embarrassed took this long.

April 2026 parent app release (v1.0.1)

This update focused on visual polish and two features parents asked for repeatedly: a clear overview of what's available in the app, and the ability to download report cards as a PDF.

New: Module Grid on the Overview tab

Previously, app features beyond Attendance and Marks were hidden behind a horizontal scroll strip that most parents never discovered. Chat, Homework, Timetable, and Transport were effectively invisible.

The new Module Grid shows all available modules as a 3×2 icon grid on the Overview tab. Every feature is visible at launch — no scrolling required. Chat and Homework adoption increased significantly in the first week of testing.

New: Report card PDF download

Parents can now download their child's report card as a PDF from the Marks tab. The PDF is generated server-side in the board's official format and arrives in the device's Downloads folder with a native notification.

No more asking the school for a physical copy. No more screenshots of the report card screen.

New: HeroBanner

The dashboard now opens with a school-branded hero banner showing the school logo, current date, and a quick-stat row (attendance today, upcoming exam, fee due). A small change that makes the app feel like it belongs to your school specifically.

Bug fixes

  • Fixed a crash on devices without SafeAreaProvider installed correctly (all users on certain Android 12 devices)
  • Fixed the "No active students" toast that appeared incorrectly after a deliberate sign-out
  • Corrected an edge case where the fee due amount showed ₹0 even when dues were pending (stale cache issue)
  • Fixed the school search not returning results for schools with spaces in the name

Coming in May

Dark mode — currently in testing. Offline homework viewing. Notification history inbox improvements.
